Many Buyers today are making moves based on changes in their working lives brought on by Covid 19. Most are working from home and finding that the once thought of roominess of their current digs is now not so much. The home has gotten smaller! Not really but it sure feels that way. So my Buyers are asking for something larger with a dedicated office, and a larger yard, and oh yes, out of the high population areas like downtown Nashville.
I am working now with a professional couple from the West End area. They have two kids in 1700 sq ft. Now that both are working from home the 1700 sq ft feels like 700 sq ft! They have a small yard which was fine when they were both going to work each day, but now after living by the new rules of 2020, it seems cramped and small. Just a little too cozy!
They have found a home in Gallatin that is over 3,000 sq ft, much newer with a nice spacious yard and because it’s in an area that sells for less than West Nashville, they were able to do for very close to what they are selling their home for. It’s an overall win win!
We haven’t seen this kind of move to the Suburbs since the early 1960’s and I look for this unexpected change to become a trend that will last for years.
